ROCCO Research: The Leading Vendors in Data Clearing 2017 as rated by MNOs

ROCCO HQ London 29/05/2017. Our 4th annual research into the Performance and Leadership of Data Clearing Vendors has been concluded, the results have been checked and verified and we are pleased to announce the Tier One Providers in Data Clearing for 2017.

Data Clearing is a fundamental process needed for the delivery of International Roaming. Data Clearing is the process of detecting and correcting (or removing) corrupt or inaccurate records from a file exchanged by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) which reports on their subscribers usage in each others networks when International Roaming occurs. It refers to identifying incomplete, incorrect, inaccurate or irrelevant parts of the data and then working with MNOs towards cleaning it in preparation for billing. While Mobile Network Operators have some of this data within their network already, the validation and or data processing is still an important part of delivering accurate Roaming billing information today. As you can imagine with the recent stories of Roaming Bill Shock MNOs must always choose highly reputable Vendors to assist them in delivering accurate data.

ROCCO identified 10 Vendors who offer Data Clearing services which support clearing of data for International Roaming. Repeating the popular research we conducted in 2016, we then asked Mobile Operators to rate the Vendors against over 35 Performance and Leadership KPIs to identify the leading Vendors in this market.

Congratulations to the two Vendors who reached Tier One within our research. Tier One means that across all categories these Vendors were rated 4-5 points out of 5 by MNOs.

Comfone are a featured regular in our Data Clearing research having achieved Tier One also in our 2015 and 2016 report. Starhome MACH with their long history in Data Clearing have always scored high our our research were also rated Tier One this year.

Between March to May 2017 we asked Mobile Network Operators globally to give us their perceptions of Data Clearing Vendors. The survey was about brand perception, experience of these providers as well as an understanding of whether MNOs would choose them over others.
