In the recent years, there has been an increase in travelling but not necessarily roaming services; do crystal-clear calls and superior service win back silent roamers? The following press release by AT&T promotes the launch of VoLTE in South Korea and Hong Kong.

ROCCO’s VoLTE Roaming Strategy report contains more information on MNOs strategy for VoLTE in 2017.

AT&T* is launching Voice over LTE (VoLTE) roaming in South Korea and Hong Kong. We’re also collaborating with additional VoLTE roaming providers in Japan. Customers traveling in these countries will have HD voice service when calling other AT&T customers with compatible devices and in VoLTE coverage areas.**

We recently launched VoLTE roaming in Japan on NTT DOCOMO.

Now, we’re launching with SK Telecom in South Korea and CSL and SmarTone in Hong Kong to provide VoLTE roaming for customers traveling there.

VoLTE enables crystal-clear HD voice services, and you can talk while browsing the web at ultra-fast LTE speeds.

“Our customers are becoming more mobile and expect the network quality they experience at home when abroad,”

said Bill Hague, executive vice president of Global Connections Management, AT&T.

“We’re continuing to expand our VoLTE roaming coverage so customers stay connected using the latest technology when traveling.”
